Our Own Film, Portuguese Sun, and the „End of the World” – Our Erasmus+ in Mirandela!

Hello there!

We are Agata and Lena – 3rd year students of Foreign Languages in Media and Business at the University of Applied Sciences in Konin. We took part in the spring edition of the Erasmus+ program (BIP).  In April 2026, we traveled to sunny Mirandela for the „Integrated Multimedia Project: Local Markets” organized by the Portuguese university IPB.

It all started with three online meetings in March and April. Thanks to them, by the time we arrived, we already knew exactly what to do and who we were working with.  Instead of stressing out at the start, we immediately dived straight into our tasks on the really cool and modern EsACT campus.

🌍✈️ Learning Without Boredom

What exactly happened on site? It was very creative and we definitely didn’t just sit behind desks!

📌 We took part in interesting workshops in the artistic space „Estação Dual Artes”.

📌 We went to the Côa Museum, where we saw prehistoric rock drawings with our own eyes.

📌 We prepared a huge exhibition right in the middle of the local market in Mirandela.

🌍✈️ Our Film on the Big Screen

The coolest task was creating our own project. We came up with the idea to show our region in Portugal! As part of the classes, we recorded and edited a promotional video about our local market in Turek all by ourselves.  Showing this video to students and lecturers from different countries was a bit stressful. But when we heard the applause and great feedback, the stress quickly faded. We realized then that what we learn in our media and business studies really works perfectly in real life.

🌍✈️ With a Camera on the Cliffs

After hard work – and delicious, free lunches in the university canteen, which really helped our student budget  – we went to explore the south of the country. Lisbon gave us a ton of positive energy, but it was the ocean views that stole our hearts the most. We went to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe. When you stand on the massive cliffs with the wind blowing hard in your face, you feel like you’re standing at the „end of the world.”

Then we walked down a steep, sandy path to the wild Praia da Ursa (Bear Beach). Golden sand, freezing water, and huge rocks sticking straight out of the ocean – this place looks like something out of a fantasy movie! We sat there, listening to the sound of the waves and taking hundreds of photos.

We are returning to Poland with loads of footage, new friends, and a great experience. If you dream of a trip that combines studying with traveling, the Erasmus program is an absolute hit.
