University of YouTube?

Some people think that learning foreign languages is a piece of cake and don’t seek new or more effective ways of studying from those they already know because they simply don’t need to. But there are also those to whom learning is a real nightmare and all those tenses, or rules to follow, sound like jibber-jabber. That is why, they seek ways that would simplify their study process, and the fact that our lives nowadays are mostly online is a true blessing to them. There are a lot of apps, YouTube channels, and a variety of platforms where people come forward with innovative and up-to-date ways of studying. Their main aim is to teach them what they want to learn in a play-centered way. Some of them are even quite funky. One in particular. Her name is Arlena Witt and trust me, the way she shares her knowledge is just magnificent, and if you don’t – check it yourself.

She started a YouTube channel in 2015 called ‘Po Cudzemu’ where she regularly shares her genius wit with us.

Her videos are educational and entertaining at the same time. In every single episode, she explains grammar or pronunciation problems, taking both British and American accents into consideration. There is literally no way that you wouldn’t remember anything after watching one of her brilliant materials.

The biggest advantage and at the same time the most fun part of her videos is that she solves every linguistic problem which we all face daily, by adding fragments of popular movies, series, or songs. Her favourite and the one which appears most often is ‘Friends’ undoubtedly.

She focuses her attention not only on teaching Poles English grammar but most importantly, on making it as pleasant as possible. She’s released a book series titled ‘Grama to nie drama’ and ‘Władaj i gadaj’ where she explains precisely those grammatical mysteries and presents the most useful English words and collocations as well.

Moreover, she is an extraordinarily positive person whose smile and positivity are contagious. I hope that you catch some grammatical spells from her and spice it up with a bit of euphoria.
