Is Poland an interesting country?

What country  would you like to visit the most? 

 

Perhaps, Poland can pique your interest? I have prepared five interesting facts about our country.  Poland is a country that hides many secrets, both cultural and historical. Many interesting facts about our country are not only interesting for foreigners, but unknown even to the  Poles. Enjoy you reading!

 

Poland is the largest exporter of amber in the world 

It is estimated that our country is responsible for up to 70% global exports of this raw material. When visiting  Tricity, you can often come across amber fairs which are attended by tourists interested in it from all over the world.

The best Neapolitan pizza is made in… Poland 

Even though Italians laugh at our pizza with ketchup, in the 2021 competition for the best Neapolitan pizza baked at home, in which over 700 people from 50 countries took part,  Poland took the first and third place.

The most Polish fruits – apples 

Poland is one of the largest apple producers in the world. Most often, we rank first in the European Union and 3rd-4th in the world, although it should be emphasized that it depends on the weather conditions in a given year.

Mushroom picking 

Polish people like to pick mushrooms. In many countries, mushroom picking is regulated by law, e.g. you need a special license for it, and in some countries mushroom picking is completely banned. In Poland, anyone can pick mushrooms, provided that they do not damage the forest litter. Sometimes we laugh that mushroom picking is our national sport. It is possible to encounter  entire families with children looking for mushrooms.

A castle that takes your breath away

The largest castle in the world is located in Poland. The Teutonic Castle in Malbork is the largest castle in the world in terms of area. Built in the 13th century as a Teutonic castle and fortress, it was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
