Working with Children with Intellectual Disabilities –  My Passion and My Call

Working with children with intellectual disabilities is more than just a job; it is a true sacrifice. Every day, I’m reminded of the power of patience, empathy, and the beauty of small achievements. Each child is unique, bringing their own challenges and strengths, and my role is to help them discover their potential.

In my job, progress often comes in small steps – a new word, a smile, or completing a task independently. These moments remind me that every achievement, no matter how small, is meaningful and worth celebrating.

Trust is the foundation of everything I do. Many of these children need time to feel safe and understood, and building that connection is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job.

Every day is different, and no two children learn in the same way. This is why creativity is such an essential part of my job. My task is to organize creative activities and educational games that not only support children’s development but also bring them joy. Each child has different needs, which is why a key aspect of my work is adapting methods and learning strategies to their individual abilities and interests. Together with my children, we love spending time outdoors and watching cartoons in my classroom. My children require care and attention. They enjoy hand and head massages, as well as playing with light.

This job is challenging but deeply fulfilling. These children teach me to appreciate the life’s simple joys and to celebrate even the little things. This job means everything to me; it teaches me humility, patience, and love. It gives hope to every person, regardless of their limitations. It’s more than just a regular job.
