Hi guys, 

Today I would like to tell you about a special day which  is Mother’s Day. 

There are many holidays in our calendar that we celebrate less or more enthusiastically. There are bank holidays and church holidays.  However, there are dates in the calendar that are more important than others. For me, personally, one of them is Mother’s Day. It is  a special holiday not only in Poland but also around the world. Because all Mothers are unique women, full of love, care and incredible strength which they show every day.  The day dedicated to our mothers is celebrated in Poland on May 26 and on this holiday  we express respect, understanding and ordinary love for our mothers and their difficult role. The first celebration of Mother’s Day took place in 1914 in Cracow. After gaining the independence, that celebration has become a part of our tradition.  Nowadays, it is a family holiday during which children prepare small gifts for their mothers. These are handmade laurels, pictures and wishes, as well as flowers and many other children’s treasures are given to their beloved mothers.
