Let’s get in the mood for Valentine’s Day!

Hi everyone,

Today, I’d like to write about Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day, which falls on 14th February, is becoming increasingly popular in Poland. Red hearts, greeting cards, boxes of chocolates, romantic dinners and bouquets of flowers are all associated with St Valentine’s Day. How do people in Anglo-Saxon countries spend this special day and how do you make Valentine’s Day wishes in English?

In England, it was the custom for children to dress up as adults, then visit homes and joyfully sing songs about love. These days, however, everything has been globalised. You see Valentine’s Day cards and decorations everywhere in the shops. Brits, like Americans, also profess their love with cards with hearts, and small gifts, which include cardboard hearts with Romeo and Juliet characters.

Let’s move on to declarations of love. I believe that you will proclaim your love in  Polish without any help. But do you know how to say Valentine’s Day wishes in English? Let’s look at the phrases below:

I love you. – Kocham Cię.

💕

You are the love of my life. – Jesteś miłością mojego życia.

💕

I want to spend the rest of my life with you. – Chcę spędzić z Tobą resztę mojego życia.

💕

Without you my life would be incomplete. – Bez Ciebie moje życie byłoby niepełne.

💕

Meeting you was the best thing that has ever happened to me. – Spotkanie Ciebie było najlepszą rzeczą, jaka kiedykolwiek mi się przytrafiła.

💕

Happy Valentine’s Day, darling. – Szczęśliwych walentynek, kochanie.

💕

You take my breath away. Always. – Zawsze mnie zachwycasz.

💕

I am the luckiest to have you in my life! – Jestem najszczęsliwszy/a, że Ciebie mam!

That’s all for today. Thank you for reading  this post! 💕
